Thunder Thighs!

Today Steven has been wearing just a onesie most of the day, and I noticed that he is getting a little chunky. He's even got rolls on his legs. I was so excited, I had to get the camera out and take some pictures. For those of you who haven't been around Steven much, for many months he has basically refused to eat. He just seals his lips and cries when I try to feed him, which is quite frustrating. He has, however, gotten a lot better with taking his bottle over the last month. He's still not great, but he's better. And he is starting to enjoy solid foods which probably helps, but I've decided what has really made him chunky is the paper that he seems to have in his mouth every time I turn around. For some reason he's got a thing for paper. Does anyone know what the calorie content of paper is? Maybe I should just let him have at it, because something is working!.

A - ATV of Choice? There are different kinds of ATV's? I had no idea! He probably likes the most dangerous ones, whichever those are.
B - Born? October 12, 1978 (Yes, he is a whole 10 months younger than me, which he of course likes to remind me of!)
C - Cookies or Candy? He is more of a steak and potatoes kind of man, but he does like a good white chocolate macadamia nut cookie or a kit kat bar.
D - Date of Choice? Anything without our kids. We're both usually ready for a break from them at any given moment. Don't take that the wrong way, we do love them.

Alaska Cruise

In celebration of my mother and father in laws 50th Wedding Anniversary, we went on a cruise to Alaska. We left our kids at my parents house for a week, which I will admit I was a little bit nervous about, but everyone survived, and Steven even got his first taste of sausage - you'll have to ask his Nana and Papa for that story. I slept through every night (I hadn't done that in about eight months), took a nap every afternoon, and ate lots of good food. We also went on a raft trip by a glacier (now there's something I never thought I would do), rode ATV's, and saw a lot of pretty scenery. It was a lot of fun. And although it was a very relaxing week without our kids, I was very happy to see them by the time it was over.

Footed PJ's

Chris looked at our blog a few days ago, and was complaining that he wasn't on it. I told him that he had to do something "blog worthy" to make the blog, he didn't just automatically get to be included. He had several fantastic suggestions for me of things he had done recently that he considered worthy, such as "graduating" from traffic school (I'm sure it must have been a proud moment.) However, I was looking through some pictures and found this one and thought it would be fun to post. Ever since we got married, Chris has always said that all he wants for Christmas is a pair of giant footed pajamas with a flap in the rear, and if I could find those, he would never want anything else for the rest of his life. So, for our anniversary this year (sort of in anticipation of our upcoming Alaska cruise) I bought him the largest pair of footed jammies you have ever seen. I couldn't find any that large with a flap in the bum - sorry Chris - but I thought they were kind of fun anyway. He says he is planning on wearing them all over the ship next week. I hope not, and I have told him that he is not allowed to wear them out of our room, but I will have to let you know how that goes :-).

A Year of Disneyland

We have had annual passes to Disneyland for a year now, and yesterday was the last day that we could use them before they expired, so I decided to take my kids to Disneyland (by myself since Chris was working) for our last visit there. It was not as bad as I expected, and my kids were pretty cooperative. And why not? After all, Disneyland is the happiest place on earth! We only stayed for a few hours, but we hit the usual favorite rides (Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates, The Carousel). I decided to post a few pictures from our first visit to Disneyland with our passes exactly a year ago, and a few pictures from our visit yesterday, exactly a year later. It is kind of fun to look at how things have changed in a year. Although, after looking at the photos I noticed that Elise was wearing the exact same bow in her hair both trips. I guess some things don't change :-).

The Arboretum

We have a annual pass to the Los Angeles Arboretum, and since it is only a few minutes from our house I like to take my kids there and just walk around. We went this week and several of the peacocks had their feathers out and were showing off, which is always fun. It is really cute because Elise can't say peacock, so she says "peapocks." I just have to laugh. She also loves to feed the ducks bread, but this particular trip we cut the duck feeding short because the geese started swarming in on the stroller and they were not being very nice. Steven loves to be outside too, so it was a fun day for all.
