Cooperation

This little boy is so cooperative, he has started taking a nap in his high chair while I make dinner most days. Just a quick 30 minute or so nap - perfect for me to be able to get dinner done. Isn't he accommodating?

Squishy

Don't these pictures just make you want to squeeze this cute little boy? And by the way, I am pretty sure that is my lens cap to my camera he is eating in the first photo. I happened to have lost it a while back.... maybe this was the last time I saw it. I guess I should go check the lawn!

Tapping and Twirling

Elise had her final ballet and tap recital this past week. It was a cute show and she did a great job. Here are a few fun pictures of her in her costumes. Don't you just love a little girl in a tutu?

De-Junking

Steven has a new recent obsession with gathering every toy he owns and piling it in his "boat." His boat might be his bed, Cameron's crib, his Thomas the Train tent, or any other handy spot. Since he started doing this a few weeks ago, I realized that we have WAY TOO MANY TOYS!!!! Especially if I am going to be picking them ALL up and trying to get them back where they belong several times a day. So I have made a decision. My project for Steven's preschool time tomorrow is to sort through it all and get rid of at least half. Cuz really, how many Happy Meal toys does one family need? Wish me luck. And Deseret Industries, here I come! Okay, realistically a lot of it should probably go straight to the trash, but we'll send some of it DI's way.

Look Who doesn't Have Training Wheels Anymore!

Over Spring Break Chris took the training wheels off of Elise's bike and she learned to ride without them. She is pretty hard headed and wouldn't let anyone tell her how to do it. She just kept telling us she already knew how. And eventually she figured it out mostly on her own. Good job Elise! She now rides her bike up and down the driveway pretty much everyday, and Steven is usually right behind her on his scooter.

Cooling Off

Cameron has discovered these little baby sized slow melting popsicles, and now whenever big brother and sister get an ice cream treat of sorts he wants one of these. It surprises me that the cold doesn't really seem to bother him.

Swimming Lessons

These two kiddos are becoming swimming experts. Elise can now swim all the way across the pool, and Steven will put his face in the water and jump in to someone. Good job guys!

I HATE LAUNDRY!

Sorting....Washing.... Hanging.... Hauling up and down stairs.... Folding.... Putting away.

I hate all of it - especially putting it away!

Sorry, I had to get that off of my chest. It is just such a neverending job.

Preschool

You have got to admit that this little boy may be the cutest preschooler you have ever seen. Steven and I started talking about him going to school several days before he started. I got him a backpack and took him to pick out a lunch pail which I felt would make it more concrete for him to understand that he really was going to school and it wasn't just something I was saying. He saw this dog lunch bag and knew immediately it was his. He just loves it and has carried it around all week with "treasures" of sorts in it.

On his first day of preschool I went to put him in the car to go and he got upset. He kept saying, "No Mom, I walk to school." I told him it was too far to walk, and he told me, "No Mom, I go to Elises' school." Oops. I guess when we were talking about starting school I should have explained that he would not be going to the same school that Elise goes to, but the thought just didn't cross my mind that he might think that. Once I settled him down and got him to preschool, he saw all the toys and kids and he was sold. I walked him in the class and he immediately found some toys. I stayed for about two minutes longer and told him goodbye. He just said, "Bye Mom, see you later." It didn't even phase him that I was leaving. I, on the other hand, cried all the way to my car.

When we picked him up he was still happy, but he was also very happy to see his mom and his brother and sister. His teacher said that about 15 minutes after I left he put his backpack on, grabbed his lunch box, announced that he was "all done," and headed for the door. She explained to him that they still had to eat lunch, play outside, and do some other fun things before I came to get him and he was just fine with that. He hung his backpack up and rejoined the class. Sometimes he cracks me up! He is at his third day of preschool right now, and so far so good. He is happy to go and has met a few new friends. Good job Steven!

Hunting Eggs

Steven was so excited this year about hunting for Easter Eggs. He must remember it somewhat from last year because as soon as the Easter Baskets came out he kept saying, "I go find eggs. I go Nana's house," as he carried his basket all over with him. He is a little sugar addict and wanted to eat every piece as soon as he found it, so I had to follow him around and make sure he didn't get too sugared up. Elise just wanted to make sure she found the most possible eggs, and ran like a maniac collecting them. Cameron was perfectly content sitting on the lawn and trying to eat his one plastic egg that I had emptied the candy out of for him. A good time was had by all, and they were so successful that I am now slowly trying to throw all the candy away when my kids aren't looking. I think tomorrow I may toss all of what is left while the big kids are at school.

Excitement

Do you remember how when you were a kid things were just so exciting that you couldn't sleep? Santa's visits, the first day of school, etc. In my current sleep deprived state it is hard to imagine anything causing me to wake up when I don't have to, but I do remember the days.

Elise has been just that excited about starting swimming lessons, literally. She is constantly asking me how many more days until swim lessons begin. And this morning at 4am, I awoke to her standing by the side of my bed staring at me. When I opened my eyes, the first words out of her mouth were, "Mom, is today the day I get to start swimming lessons?" My response? "Elise, it's the middle of the night. Go back to bed!"

They start Monday. It will be a big day for Steven as it will be his first day of swimming lessons and his first day of preschool, all in one day. Hmmmmm...... not too sure how that is all going to go over. I'll have to post an update on it sometime next week.

Chompers

This little fella got four teeth in less than one week. Ouch! And he sure let us know that it was uncomfortable, especially at night. But now that he has them, he is enjoying food even more. And I think he looks pretty cute with his little chompers.
